
Walking through The Pines woodland today I was amazed by how peaceful it is; there is the sound of multiple birds singing and the sculptures are a delight.

The Pines is easily accessed either from Stansted Road, Burleigh Road or the from Pinehurst Recreation Ground. Signposting at Burleigh Road access is none existent (see photo at the end of this piece) so it may be difficult to find but it is in the SE corner of the road.
Currently the East edge of The Pines is accessible and provides a nice forest walk from Foxholes Woodland through to Burleigh Road. There is another section running towards Wheatcroft school but this has been fenced off.

However, notices around the land show that it is only on loan from Hertfordshire County Council and not part of the adjacent public park nor a right of way.
Should KNP be asking for a public right of way through this much loved space?
Should KNP be designating this lovely green space as protected?
Does anything else need to be improved?
Would anyone be interested in litter picking through the area|?
