During our time looking at the various paths; cycle and walking, around Hertford it has become apparent that there are a number of routes where
There should be a right of way because people have been walking on a the route for several decades OR
There was a historical right of way that has been cut to be shorter or not joined to another OR
There's a route used that passes through land owned by one of the three councils that has specific notices indicating that it is not a right of way
It's a route that would benefit from becoming a right of way to protect it

We're working on extending, improving, facilitating and above all joining up rights of way within Kingsmead but we could do with some help as once we have identified potential rights of way someone will need to apply for them. Could you help and apply for rights of way to be recognised?
It's an incredibly important task to preserve and enhance these trails through and around Kingsmead. We would really love it if one or two people could start working on some of the routes that we have identified already...... with the prospect of a few more to come as more work is done on linking up the paths that are already there.
The Ramblers Association have already undertaken a crowd sourced review of historical rights of way and we have reviewed this to avoid any duplication of effort. The Ramblers have produced an outline on how to apply for a right of way so you can see what you may be letting yourself in for:

There is a lot of work in putting together the Neighbourhood Plan plus all the additional tasks on the action plan..... but many hands make light work.... Could this be your contribution to improving our neighbourhood?
